CP Rochester and Happiness House are private nonprofit health, educational, residential and human service organizations that have been serving communities in the Finger Lakes Region since 1969 and the Greater Rochester Area since 1946. Today with sites in Rochester, Canandaigua, Geneva, Gorham, Midlakes and Waterloo, our agencies offer an array of educational, therapeutic, recreational, residential and family support programs and services for children and adults with and without disabilities. On average, our agencies serve 3,650 families each year and employ approximately 600 people.

Behavior Specialist
Location : Happiness House - Canandaigua site
Pay Range : $58,000 - $72,000 per year
Position Type and Expected Hours of Work : This is a full-time / school year position (37.5 hours per week). Days and hours of work are Monday through Friday during business hours. Evening work may be required as job duties demand. This position follows the school calendar with vacations coinciding with school breaks. Summer 6-week session is included in school year employment. Summary / Objective : The Behavior Specialist working for Happiness House, with potential consultation to CP Rochester, will work collaboratively with the Associate Director of Evaluations to perform duties as described below. The Behavior Specialist will work to build rapport with the Early Intervention and Preschool Staff so appropriate services are being provided by staff on site. In addition to performing the essential functions of the Behavior Specialist position, other training opportunities may arise due to the need for staff training across all affiliated agencies.

The employee will occasionally work with children with behavioral overreactions and must be able to handle these situations.
Travel : Travel is primarily local during the business day but employee will be expected to work at any of our partner agencies. Some out-of-the-area and overnight travel may be expected.
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, relevant qualifications, internal equity, and location.
