American Traveler is seeking a travel nurse RN Med Surg for a travel nursing job in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma.

Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a pediatric float pool position requiring Med-Surg and step-down experience, as well as current BLS and PALS certifications.

Responsibilities

  • Work in a hospital float pool covering pediatric units
  • Care for a variety of pediatric patients with both simple and complex health needs
  • Requires Med-Surg and step-down experience
  • 12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week
  • Weekend shifts required every other weekend
  • Rotating holiday schedule applies
  • No local candidates accepted within a 50-mile radius
  • Provide nursing care, document patient responses, assist physicians, administer medications, and monitor physiological data
  • Interact with patients and families regarding care plans and discharge instructions
  • Delegates tasks appropriately to support staff
  • Must follow hospital procedures and maintain a collaborative environment
  • Assignment length is 13 weeks, with possible extension limits and separation requirements for rehire
  • Compliance with dress code and testing / vaccination policies as required by the facility

    • Requirements

  • Active RN license issued by Oklahoma or current multistate compact RN license (eNLC)
  • Minimum 1 year of relevant nursing experience
  • Associate's Degree in Nursing from an accredited program required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred
  • Current BLS and PALS certifications from the American Heart Association required
  • Med-Surg and step-down experience required
  • Basic computer skills required
