About The Position

Job Title : Pediatric ICU Nurse

Must-Have :

1 year of Pediatric CICU / CVICU experience as a staff nurse

3-4 contracts in a dedicated pediatric CICU

2 years minimum PICU experience as a staff nurse

Experience with caring for patients with congenital heart disease and post-operative management of CHD patients

Experience with management of arterial lines, central lines, and transthoracic lines

Description :

Pediatric CVICU Cardiac required for this position.

Unit Information : Number of Beds : 27

Number of Staff : 90

Type of Staff : Acuity adaptive model.

Team cares for ICU and step-down level patients for continuity.

Patient Ratios : 1 : 2, 1 : 1, and at times 1 : 3.

Type of Equipment :

IV pumps, beds, HARD cribs and cribettes, radiant warmers, NIRS machines, vents.

EMR : Meditech.

List of Typical Procedures Performed :

Central line and arterial line placement.

Conscious sedation.

Intubation / extubation.

Post-operative recovery of general and cardiac procedures.

Sternal closures.

Codes.

ECMO cannulation and decannulation.

CRRT.

Manual PD.
