THE POSITION Envision Education seeks a Vice Principal at City Arts and Leadership High School in San Francisco, a diverse and compassionate school community dedicated to offering students a rigorous academic experience.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES Instructional Leadership - Primary Responsibility Ensure the highest of expectations for student learning and achievement in every classroom, every day.
Implement and support the teacher observation and feedback schedule as well as regular teacher feedback and support meetings Support teachers who are in various pathway programs (National Board, Teacher credentialing, induction) In collaboration with other Instructional Leaders and Data & Assessment team members, analyze academic performance data for patterns.
Develop next steps and action plans for effective teaching and learning cycles with teachers.
Implement effective internal and external assessment systems and use data to inform decisions.
Select, share, and model effective curricular and instructional practices.
Support faculty to ensure that all staff are providing well-managed and rigorous daily lessons, and reasonable and effective daily homework.
Work with Special Education Team to ensure 504 accommodations, IEP modifications, and counseling needs are met.
Communicate regularly with families regarding student performance and academic achievement. Student Culture - Secondary Responsibility Drive the school-wide culture plan with consistency and follow through.
Develop and implement structures that ensure an urgent, rigorous, and joyful school culture.
Analyze data related to school culture in order to lead professional development.
Serve as liaison between school and family in matters related to discipline, attendance, and tardies.
Communicate proactively with staff, students, and parents.
Maintain communication and relations with the families of the school, ensuring they are able to be partners in their children's academic and behavioral success.
Respond to family concerns promptly and effectively.
Provide notification and prepare documentation of all suspensions and for expulsion hearings.
Supervise before school, lunch, passing, and dismissal.
Support teachers to hold all students to high and consistent academic and behavior expectations.
Coordinate positive community meetings, lead student government, and oversee activities related to student life, including coordinating athletics, counseling, and extracurricular activities.
Work with staff to foster consistency in enforcing the Student and Family Handbook and other school-wide discipline and student culture policies.
Staff Culture Support the Principal with attracting, hiring, and coaching all school staff members to create a high-functioning team focused on student success.
Support the maintenance of a positive and supportive staff culture based on trust, risk-taking, respect, reflective learning, and collaboration.
Clearly articulate the school’s and network’s goals and programs, as well as Envision’s mission and vision, to internal and external stakeholders.
Ensure the retention of successful staff members.
Work with staff to correspond regularly with families regarding school policies, trips, events, and milestones.
Work with staff to plan, coordinate, and support family meetings and special events. Administrative & Operational Oversight Support the Principal with setting and maintaining a balanced budget, managing state and local compliance, and ensuring a safe and smooth functioning school environment.
Supervise school facilities and ensure excellent facility management.
Support and sometimes supervise school enrollment efforts to ensure a fully enrolled school with a waiting list.
Act as Senior Administrator on duty when the Principal is off-campus, or unavailable to staff or students.
