Overview
The Product Specialist is responsible for collaborating with different departments to enhance respective brand awareness. The Product Specialist acts as the primary resource for internal teams and external customers by providing in-depth product knowledge and support. They work with cross-functional teams, such as sales, marketing, and product development, to ensure a product's success by gathering customer feedback, identifying pain points, providing training, and contributing to product development and strategy.
Essential Functions
- Partners with Sales, Purchasing, and Management to launch new products in the US, Canada, and Europe to execute and address local needs and requirements
- Plans product launches including rep samples, press releases, media, and industry sampling
- Partners with Sales, Marketing, and Digital Services to develop marketing strategies including catalogs, digital and print advertising, sales programs, and closeout reduction
- Collaborates with the development team to bring new products to market based on trends and public demand
- Researches the current market along with assessing new trends and buying habits
- Collaborates with the Art Department to plan ad schedules and scheduling of press releases as well as layout of new catalogs
- Partners with Regional Sales Manager’s and local sales reps to assist in closing sales to new accounts, large orders, and unique circumstances
- Collaborates with our Events Department to plan, coordinate, and execute various annual corporate events, training tours, dealer rides, etc.
- Partners with Art Department and purchasing to create merchandising materials and displays
- Travels with sales reps nationally for training on the product line and gain feedback from the field
- Partners with Purchasing, development team, and management to address quality control issues and warranties
- Keeps product samples organized and available for quarterly meetings, photography, rep travel, and shows
- Maintains strict confidentiality
- Performs other duties and / or task as assigned
Skills
Powersports industry knowledgeExcellent working knowledge of MS suite applications (MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook)Basic knowledge of powersport mechanical components and report proceduresRequired Qualifications and Education
High School Diploma or equivalent2 years of experience in product salesPhysical Demands
