JOB DESCRIPTION - HANDYMAN
Summary
Handyman is responsible for making sure the company’s facility looks neat and presentable to the public. They
assist in maintaining the integrity and efficient operation of building systems and perform a variety of tenant
services.
Responsibilities and Duties
- Inspect all community spaces daily to identify problems with litter, mechanical failure or breakdowns
- Respond to emergency ticket same day
- Respond to tenants’ requests for maintenance services, including replacing air filters, installing new
locks and troubleshooting smoke detectors
Repair plumbing, electrical and safety systems in tenants’ units as requiredPrepare units for move inEnsure the parking lot and sidewalks are free from litter and debrisMaintain sprinkler system and trash receptacles on the premisesTest performance of in-unit appliances, such as refrigerators, microwaves, stoves and ovensProvide tenants with advice and guidance on maintaining their apartment homesRespond to requests from property managers and maintenance services as neededRequirements
High school diploma or GED preferredExperience with plumbing and electrical systems requiredExcellent facility with common hand and power toolsFamiliarity with apartment unit layouts and infrastructuresAbility to physically stand, bend, squat, and lift up to 40+ pounds through course of shiftFamiliarity with security regulationsAbility to communicate well with property management and maintenance staffWillingness to uphold company standards for safety, tenant service and efficiencyMust be reliable and professional.Must wear Company UniformI have read and understand my job responsibilities and job performance requirements.
