Our client is a family-owned lumber re-manufacturing business. Our client is proud to be known as one of the world's largest producers of the highest quality, clear Douglas Fir and Hemlock. They also produce Western Red Cedar and Alaskan Yellow finished lumber for a variety of internal and external applications.

Summary

The ideal candidate will be a reliable, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working in both an office setting and a lumber yard. This is a hands-on role that requires a mix of administrative tasks and forklift operation.

Duties

Shipping & Documentation : Prepare and print Bills of Lading (BOLs) and other shipping documents. You'll verify orders, maintain accurate records of all outbound shipments, and enter shipment details into our systems.

Forklift Operation : Operate a forklift to safely stage and load finished lumber products for shipments. This includes ensuring products are placed correctly and that all loads meet safety requirements and customer specifications.

Quality & Safety : Conduct visual inspections of inbound and outbound loads for damage and count accuracy. You'll also be responsible for maintaining a safe work environment, ensuring proper use of personal protective equipment (PPE), and monitoring for unsafe conditions.

Communication : Communicate with truck drivers and yard staff to ensure a smooth and timely loading process. You'll report any issues with loads, products, or documentation to the Shipping Lead or Supervisor

Qualifications

1+ years of experience in a shipping or warehouse role, preferably within the lumber or manufacturing industry.

Forklift certification is required (or a willingness to obtain it upon hire).

Experience with Bills of Lading and basic shipping documentation.

Basic computer skills for data entry and document generation.

Strong attention to detail and time management skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs and be comfortable working in varying weather conditions and a noisy environment.

Shift : Monday - Friday 7am-3 : 30pm
