Industrial Controls Electrician — Portland, OR
At Mondelēz International, makers of Oreo, Chips Ahoy!, Ritz, Triscuit, Sour Patch Kids, and Swedish Fish, every shift helps fuel the future of snacking. In our Nabisco / Mondelēz Portland plant, you’ll join a union team in a continuous-improvement setting where craftsmanship and pride in quality go hand in hand.
Your day-to-day
Picture starting your shift by reviewing overnight logs and jumping into a PLC fault on a high‑speed packaging line. You trace the issue through an Allen‑Bradley panel, verify a 4–20 mA signal with your multimeter, and isolate a VFD parameter that needs attention. Later, you calibrate instrumentation, perform thermography checks, and collaborate with operators to fine‑tune performance—all while keeping safety, food quality, and uptime front and center.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and repair production equipment across a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
- Maintain and upgrade electrical systems up to 480V (3‑phase), including controls, VFDs, PLCs, and related devices.
- Read and interpret wiring diagrams and schematics; perform PLC troubleshooting / programming.
- Use test equipment (multimeter, megger, thermography) to resolve electrical and control issues.
- Calibrate and verify 4–20 mA instruments and other low-voltage control systems.
- Adhere to GMPs, health code requirements, NEC / NFPA standards, and site Food Safety policies.
- Operate production machinery with guidance when needed and partner closely with a diverse team.
