Position Overview
The Federal Correctional Complex (FCC) Pollock is seeking a qualified Pharmacy Technician to provide professional and efficient pharmacy support services within a secure federal healthcare environment. The Pharmacy Technician will assist pharmacists in preparing, processing, and maintaining medications and supplies to ensure the highest standards of safety, accuracy, and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Read and interpret prescriptions and medication orders written by medical staff.
- Select, retrieve, and prepare medications of correct strength and dosage form for pharmacist review.
- Transcribe prescription data into pharmacy computer systems and prepare prescription labels.
- Maintain accurate medication inventories and ensure all stock is current, properly labeled, and stored.
- Prepare supply lists for replenishment and maintain cleanliness and organization of the pharmacy area.
- Use unit-dose repackaging automation to prepare medications for use at other Bureau of Prisons (BOP) sites.
- Assist with packaging prescriptions for shipment and processing returned medications.
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local regulations in the performance of pharmacy duties.
