Collateral Underwriter

Collateral Underwriter

Responsibilities :

Review and analyze collateral documentation to ensure compliance with agency and investor guidelines

Evaluate property appraisals, title commitments, and other supporting documents for accuracy and completeness

Identify collateral-related risks in loan files and communicate clearly to loan officers and processors

Maintain up-to-date knowledge of industry regulations, investor requirements, and underwriting standards

Qualifications :

Minimum of 2 years of collateral review experience

Strong knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA, HUD-184, VA, and USDA guidelines

Certifications requirement : SARS for VA & CHUMS for FHA

Familiarity with appraisal standards, title reports, and property valuation practices

Strong communication skills
