Administrative Coordinator
Under general supervision, the Administrative Coordinator provides administrative and legal secretarial support to the Workers' Compensation Judge, and acts as liaison with the public concerning administrative and minor legal matters, requiring a working knowledge of Workers' Compensation procedural rules and statutes.
The Office of Workers' Compensation Administration (OWCA) in Louisiana oversees the enforcement and administration of workers' compensation laws, aiming to support early return-to-work efforts and improve workplace safety. We do not process individual workers' compensation claims or issue benefit payments.
An ideal candidate will possess the following competencies :

Minimum Qualifications : No experience or training is required.
Job Duties :
Assembles records and exhibits in a form acceptable to each Court of Appeals, certifies as true and accurate the record of proceedings held before the Workers' Compensation Judge, and transmits the record to the appropriate Court of Appeals as required.Independently collects bonds on all suspensive appeals. Estimate appeal costs. Prepares and sends estimated cost bills to the parties appealing. Monitors appeals and ensures that estimated appeal costs are paid in a timely manner.On behalf of the State files Rules to Show Cause before the Workers' Compensation Judge why appeals should not be dismissed for failure to pay estimated appeal costs in a timely manner.Copies all checks received in the district hearing office and inserts a copy in the file. Record checks on the computer to ensure that the original check is submitted to Financial and Compliance in Baton Rouge.Monitors requisitioning of office supplies and equipment.Receives, maintains, and encodes (ISIS System) invoices and receiving reports of all district equipment, services, and supplies.Utilizes the internet to log district inventory.Reviews Request for Approval of Compromise or Lump Sum settlements and recommends approval or rejection to the Workers' Compensation Judge.Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the work of student workers who provide clerical support for the district hearing office.Serves as back-up to the Dispute Resolution Specialist (DRS) for all duties of the DRS position.Other duties as assigned.Location : Baton Rouge, LA
