Credit Analyst Overview :
Analyze financial statements and credit data to determine First Western Bank & Trust’s risk in extending credit or lending money; and prepare reports with credit information for use in decision making.
Analyze financial statements and credit data to determine the risk involved in extending creditVerify and input financial data within appropriate banking softwarePrepare financial spreads utilized in credit presentationEvaluate customer earnings, savings data, payment history, and purchase activityGenerate debt to income ratios to assess customers' financial statusAnalyze income growth, asset management, and market share to determine expected profitability of loansCompare profit and liability history of commercial or agriculture entity being evaluatedReview customer file documentation and write narrative analysis of risk factorsWork with commercial and agriculture lenders to ensure parameters of the Bank’s loan policy are metDetermine exposure limits and assign risk ratings for Automated Clearing House customersMonitor various loans and provide monthly status reportsCompile financial spreads and query reports as requested for annual loan reviews, vendor analysisComplete summaries of loan requests to submit appropriate approval level authority, loan committeeMaintain knowledge of risk management techniquesAttend training and complete software webinars to enhance knowledgeEnsure compliance with banking laws, regulations, and the Bank’s policies and procedures, including Bank Secrecy ActMaintain continuing education related to regulatory standardsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a teamCredit Analyst Education and / or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance or business-related field or equivalent work experienceTwo years’ experience in banking, credit or analyst role preferredKnowledge of financial statements requiredCredit Analyst Skills / Abilities
Excellent oral and written communication skillsAbility to define problems, facts and draw valid conclusionsStrong mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skillsDemonstrate adaptability while effectively meeting assigned deadlinesKnowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and related banking programs; SageWorks and Moody’s AnalyticsFirst Western Bank & Trust is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
