Job description

We’re looking for a hands-on QA leader to operationalize quality systems in a high-speed, food-grade metal packaging environment. If you thrive on data, coaching, supplier performance, and customer trust, this is your platform.

Your impact (first 90–180 days)

  • Stabilize and optimize core quality systems : inspection / test methods, work instructions, procedures, product specs, GMPs, Food Safety Compliance, and best practices.
  • Map and close critical gaps in product integrity and quality system adherence.
  • Establish a cadence for KPI communication and floor-level engagement to drive compliance.
  • Implement a structured root cause / corrective action (RCCA) program; begin auditing for effectiveness on customer and internal nonconformances.
  • Stand up supplier CI routines; accelerate closure on coating and mill defective material claims.
  • Refresh HFI system controls for balance, disposition, rework, and inventory accuracy.

What you'll own

  • Continuous improvement strategy for plant quality and supplier performance.
  • Final disposition decisions for finished product based on production and quality data relative to specifications.
  • Primary customer interface to strengthen relationships, resolve issues, and ensure technical / quality support.
  • Cross-functional alignment with Commercial, Product Development, and Corporate Engineering on new business and product trials.
  • Adherence to SMA principles and procedures across the plant.
  • Complete and accurate execution of all plant quality procedures and management reporting.
  • Training of department leads and supervisors in process quality improvement methods and GMPs.
  • Collaboration with Corporate Quality Assurance on special projects and with HR on personnel matters.
  • Direct supervision of plant personnel (varies by location) and other duties as assigned.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s in a technical or related field.
  • 8+ years in manufacturing and 4+ years dedicated to quality.
  • Demonstrated leadership and people development capability.
  • Analytical rigor, strong computer proficiency, and excellent communication skills.
  • Comfort solving complex, non-standard problems and partnering at all organizational levels.
  • Preferred

  • Six Sigma knowledge (Black Belt or Green Belt) and experience applying lean / CI in can manufacturing.
  • Experience managing self-directed work forces.
  • Proficiency expected

  • Networked execution

    You will work in continuous communication with other Ardagh Metal Packaging plants to share learnings and harmonize best practices.
