High Level Statement of the Role :
The Quality Control Coordinator is responsible for conducting best sequences of the operations to drive quality, process daily checks to ensure compliance with HACCP principals, GMP’s, and SOP’s. This position will also provide compliance leadership in the production and quality areas and work with quality management, external auditors, in conjunction with shop floor employees to ensure compliance.
Roles and Responsibilities :
- Perform process checks throughout the production, packaging, sanitation, and warehousing functions of the company, including pre-operational checks, sanitation verification, in progress verifications.
- Assess GMP and FDA compliance risk areas
- Calibrate test equipment.
- Lead GMP / FDA training of functional areas
- Assist in the development of and implement standards, policies, and procedures for GMP / FDA regulatory compliance
- Report and escalate compliance issues to management
- Participate in quality and compliance improvement initiatives
- Provide guidance, interpretation, and information on GMP and FDA regulations, standards, and quality systems to shop floor employees
- Conduct research on Quality Assurance issues and deliver reports to management.
- Recommend, champion and execute program enhancements.
- Basic training of employees in Production and QC processes (i.e. Proper GMP’s, proper identification of lot codes and other training as specified by Production Manager and Director of Food Safety)
- Operation and knowledge of and set up processes and maintain capability of production including but not limited to, loading, feeding, preventive maintenance and training.
- Receive and document batch testing results from external laboratory vendor.
