Make the world’s most advanced SDA O&I/GMI even smarter by supporting the SDA team as a PWSA Enterprise Level Engineer. The Ground Management and Integration (GMI) program is part of the PWSA program. It continues the Ground Segment work underway on the Tranche 1 (T1) Operations and Integration (O&I) program.

Responsibilities:

• As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems. Your contributions will be vital to the success and innovation of the program.

• Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
• Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
• 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

Preferred Experience:

• Domain Knowledge:
  Ground system design or scheduling knowledgeTracking mission design knowledgeSatellite communications knowledgeGround to satellite communication knowledge
• Technical Skills:
  Experience with system/software design for cloud-based microservice architectureKnowledge of networking concepts and protocols (., TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP)Familiarity with operating systems (., Linux, Windows)Experience with virtualization technologies (., VMware, Hyper-V)
• Systems Design and Integration:
  Strong understanding of systems engineering principles and methodologiesExperience with systems design, integration, and validationProficiency in requirements analysis and system architecture design
• DevOps and Continuous Integration:
  Understanding of DevOps principles and practicesExperience with automation tools (., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Cloud and Infrastructure:Experience with cloud platforms (., AWS, Azure, GCP)
  Knowledge of infrastructure as code (., Terraform, CloudFormation)
• Security and Compliance:Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practicesFamiliarity with compliance standards (., NIST, ISO 27001)

Preferred Technical Background:

• Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, and design behaviorExperience with ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloadsExperience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysisExperience decomposing high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design
• Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw
• Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling
• Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
• DevOps and Automation: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices
  Experience with automation tools (., Ansible, Puppet, Chef)
• Security and Compliance: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
  Familiarity with compliance standards (., NIST, ISO 27001)
• Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teamsStrong problem-solving and analytical skillsProficient in documenting system designs, configurations, and procedures)
