Senior System Engineer

Make the world’s most advanced SDA O&I/GMI even smarter by supporting the SDA team as a PWSA Enterprise Level Engineer. The Ground Management and Integration (GMI) program is part of the PWSA program. It continues the Ground Segment work underway on the Tranche 1 (T1) Operations and Integration (O&I) program.
Responsibilities:
- As a Systems Engineer for the SDA GMI program, you will be a key member of a cross-functional team responsible for developing and deploying state-of-the-art ground operational systems. Your contributions will be vital to the success and innovation of the program.

- Department of Defense Top Secret security clearance is preferred at time of hire.
- Requires a Bachelor’s degree in Software Engineering, or a related Science, Engineering, Technology or Mathematics field.
- 2+ years of job-related experience, or a Master's degree and 6 months of job-related experience. Agile experience preferred.

Preferred Technical Background:
- Systems Engineering: Proficiency in systems engineering, decomposing requirements into architecture, internal and external interfaces, and design behaviorExperience with ground pre-planned or ad-hoc scheduling and situational awareness of satellites and payloadsExperience with tracking IR payload or ground mission data transport, handling, and analysisExperience decomposing high-level space-ground systems design into ground software/systems design
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE): Experience with MBSE methodologies and tools such as CAMEO or MagicDraw
- Programming and Tools Skills: Familiarity with programming languages such as Java, Python, and MATLAB, including for software developer coordination, system analysis, prototype algorithm development, or modeling
- Cloud Computing: Knowledge of cloud technologies and their application in system design and deployment
- DevOps and Automation: Understanding of DevOps principles and practices
Experience with automation tools (., Ansible, Puppet, Chef) - Security and Compliance: Understanding of cybersecurity principles and best practices
