Nurse Manager

Position Description

Supervises and delegates nursing care to members of the health care team, and may provide direct care based on staffing needs. Functions within the legal scope of practice and in accordance with organizational policies and procedures. Plans, organizes, directs, and evaluates patient care services. Reports to the Unit Facility Health Administrator (FHA) and provides supervision and guidance to subordinate nursing staff to ensure a safe, efficient, and professional healthcare environment.

Major / Essential Functions

  • Ensures nursing staff are properly educated and supervised to perform job functions.
  • Monitors communication of patient data using Electronic Health Records (EHR) and Patient Throughput Module to support decision-making for delivery of optimal patient care.
  • Conducts departmental staff meetings.
  • Investigate quality of care concerns.
  • Responsible for nursing service aspects of Quality Improvement, ORA, ATC, and other audit surveys.
  • Recruits, interviews, and hires nurses to fill vacancies.
  • Conduct Performance Evaluations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Education :  Graduate from an approved accredited nursing program.

License / Certification : Current license as a Registered Nurse as approved by the Texas Board of Nursing or have the ability to transfer RN license to Texas.

  • CPR certified.
  • Experience :  Four years related experience.
