Pharmacy Technician - Registered

SUMMARY

Performs a variety of medication recording and preparation tasks, as well as other duties in support of pharmacy operations. Must possess Pharmacy Technician Registration, as required by the Massachusetts Pharmacy Board of Registration. Immunization Administration Certification is a requirement of the position. Incumbents not already certified, must become immunization certified within 90 days from the date of hire.

EDUCATION / LICENSES / CERTIFICATIONS

• High School diploma or equivalency certificate (e.g. GED, HiSET, TASC Test) from an accredited institution or governmental unit required.
• Graduate of an approved pharmacy technician program or institutional / retail pharmacy experience.
• Must currently be a Registered Pharmacy Technician in the state of Massachusetts with an active pharmacy technician license without restrictions from the MA Board of Pharmacy. Licensure in accordance with Pharmacy Staff License Monitoring and Maintenance of Credentials Policy
• Must have Certified in Immunization Administration by an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education ("ACPE") accredited training program or become certified within 90 days of entering the role.
• Must not be listed on the Exclusion Database List of Excluded Individuals and Entities (LEIE) maintained by the Department of Health and Human Services Office of Inspector General (OIG).
• American Heart Association Basic Life Support (BLS) required. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) may be required based on specialty.

EXPERIENCE

One to two years' experience in a service industry is preferred.

Prior pharmacy experience and cash handling experience are desirable.

Must be at least 18 years of age.

SKILLS

Working knowledge of pharmacy operations and cash handling experience preferred.

Knowledge of laws and regulations related to pharmacy practice and patient confidentiality preferred.

Excellent attention to detail and strong organizational skills are preferred.

Must be team oriented and demonstrate good customer service skills, effective verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and strong interpersonal skills when interacting with patients and colleagues.

Sound judgment with the ability to work and make decisions in a fast-paced environment.

The hourly range for this role is $20.42 to $30.63 per hour based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. Atrius Health complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
