Job Description

CDM Smith is seeking an Interior Design Specialist to support its firmwide workplace strategy across 500,000 square feet of office space. This role integrates interior design, space planning, and project management, ensuring that office environments are functional, visually compelling, and aligned with business goals.

This is a hybrid position requiring two days per week in the office. The role is based in a metropolitan area on the East Coast of the United States. Candidates must currently reside on the East Coast.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the design planning and execution of office space projects, from concept through completion.
• Develop drawings and presentations for internal stakeholders to communicate design intent and spatial solutions.
• Collaborate cross-functionally to gather business intelligence for move sequencing and relocation logistics.
• Manage the procurement and coordination of furniture systems, ensuring alignment with company standards.
• Serve as a liaison between local offices, vendors, project teams, and property management.
• Oversee construction management for office buildouts and expansions.
• Ensure compliance with corporate workplace design standards through review of fit plans and construction documents.
• Maintain internal resources including the department web page and workroom site.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

Background Check and Drug Testing Information

CDM Smith Inc. and its divisions and subsidiaries (hereafter collectively referred to as "CDM Smith") reserves the right to require background checks including criminal, employment, education, licensure, etc. as well as credit and motor vehicle when applicable for certain positions. In addition, CDM Smith may conduct drug testing for designated positions. Background checks are conducted after an offer of employment has been made in the United States. The timing of when background checks will be conducted on candidates for positions outside the United States will vary based on country statutory law but in no case, will the background check precede an interview. CDM Smith will conduct interviews of qualified individuals prior to requesting a criminal background check, and no job application submitted prior to such interview shall inquire into an applicant's criminal history. If this position is subject to a background check for any convictions related to its responsibilities and requirements, employment will be contingent upon successful completion of a background investigation including criminal history. Pay Range Minimum : $67,538

Pay Range Maximum : $111,405

Additional Compensation :

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
