Design elements of projects for new construction and renovations to existing structures. This includes all phases of project development, from preliminary design through final construction documents, in addition to construction phase services. Perform field observations at project sites as required.
Design and analyze using various materials including steel, stainless steel, aluminum, concrete, masonry and timber.
Perform structural engineering analyses, designs and calculations using standard methodology and principles or other viable approaches. Prior use of computer software programs, such as RAM Advance & Structural System, RISA-3D, Staad, Enercalc, AutoCAD and Revit, is desired.
Ensure engineering designs meet applicable company, local, state, and national codes and standards, including but not limited to IBC, ASCE 7, ACI and AISC.
Accountable for managing structural design for multiple projects, including project timeline, budget, quality of solutions and final deliverables.
Support technical requests from current and prospective clients.
Supervise, delegate and mentor the project team and serve as a technical advisor providing knowledge and expertise.
Bachelors Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Valid Professional Engineering Licensure (PE) is required. If other than PA, must obtain PA PE license.
Minimum of 7-10 years of structural engineering experience.
Proficient in structural engineering principles and practices and the application to project-related issues.
Exceptional oral and written communications skills, including the ability to compose letters, outlines, memoranda, reports, etc. Be able to communicate technical information to others.
Ability to provide guidance and leadership to junior staff or project team members.
Ability to work as part of a project team and collaborate with others to explore design solutions.
Flexibility to work a schedule conducive to project-specific requirements which may occasionally extend beyond the typical workweek.
Occasional same day travel may be required.
Possession and maintenance of a valid Pennsylvania drivers license.
Must be able to drive to and walk through job sites.
Masters Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
Attainment of multi-state PE licenses (NY, NJ, MD, DE, VA).
Experience mentoring and developing technical capabilities of junior staff.
Experience managing a variety of project sizes.
Starting salary $110K - 120K depending on experience.
