Job Description
The Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) performs nursing care under RN supervision, adhering to standards for managing supplies and equipment. Responsibilities include providing general patient care, administering treatments, preparing equipment, observing and reporting patient conditions, and assisting with exams and procedures. The LPN greets patients, obtains history and vital signs, and educates patients on sample collection and treatments.
Tasks may include collecting specimens, administering medications, wound care, assisting with procedures, and performing assessments. Additional duties involve coordinating patient transfers, managing documentation, and responding to calls for prescriptions and test results. The role may require specialized training for tasks like venipuncture, EKGs, or IV management.
The LPN ensures proper documentation, maintains a clean environment, participates in meetings, and adheres to confidentiality and safety protocols. A valid Louisiana LPN license and BLS certification are required, with preferred one year of experience. Work hours are 7AM-7PM, full-time.
