Associate Product Manager

The MIG Gun Division (Bernard / Tregaskiss) of Miller Electric is seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to join our team at Bernard as an Associate Product Manager based onsite in our facility in Beecher, IL. This role offers an exciting opportunity to contribute to the growth and success of our product lines.

As an Associate Product Manager, you will be working closely with our Segment Leaders and Product Managers. Your role will be instrumental in portfolio management, strategic marketing initiatives, and product development.

How you will make an impact :

  • Initiate and manage product updates, new product introductions, discontinuation, and pricing changes.
  • Assist in defining product specifications with engineering and collaborating with them to develop new products.
  • Support the development and documentation of product launches, training materials, Specification Sheets, Operators Manual, and Learning Module Systems.
  • Collect and synthesize customer insights (VOC) and competitive intelligence through customer interviews, market research, and channel knowledge.
  • Develop an understanding of the end-users business and their unmet needs.
  • Evaluate and report on product performance sales volume, margins, and market share.
  • Function as a liaison with sales, engineering, manufacturing, and appropriate division personnel to communicate, train and deliver product solutions that maintain market leadership.
  • Represent brand category with internal team, channel partners and users through product knowledge, product support, training, tradeshows, and customer visits.
  • Support trade shows, distributor open houses / training, and other industry events.

Ability to resolve issues in a timely manner.

  • Technical Aptitude - Strong analytical and critical thinking skills. Knowledge of welding products, especially semi-automatic torches and consumables, including both technical and commercial aspects.
  • Adaptability - Must be able to adjust to a changing work environment, competing demands and deadlines, frequent changes, delays and unexpected events with tact and poise.
  • Presentation Skills - Demonstrated ability to present and facilitate in front of groups with crisp and impactful messaging.
  • Driven - Persistent, goal-oriented, and results-driven mindset
  • Qualifications :

  • Bachelor's degree in business, Marketing, Engineering, or a related field is required.
  • 2 years of experience in a similar role preferred.
  • Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office products (Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams) is required. Familiarity with Microsoft Dynamic 365 CRM (D365) software is a plus.
  • Must be available for up to 25% travel within the United States and Canada for customer visits, supplier meetings, and industry events.

    Most time will be spent in an office environment. Occasionally the employee may be required to spend time on the manufacturing floor. Certain personal protective equipment is required when in the manufacturing areas. Work is normally performed in an office environment.

    Compensation Information :

    The annual base salary range for this position is $72,000 80,000 annually. Please note that this salary information serves as a general guideline. The company considers various factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to the scope and responsibilities of the position, the candidate's work experience, education and training, key skills, as well as geographic location, market, and business considerations.
