We are looking for a skilled Tax Accountant to join our team in Mechanicsville, Virginia. In this role, you will focus on preparing and reviewing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with federal and state regulations. Responsibilities :

• Prepare accurate and timely individual and business tax returns, including corporate and partnership filings.
• Review tax returns prepared by other team members, ensuring thoroughness and resolving any discrepancies.
• Maintain updated status codes within UltraTax CS software and track both billable and non-billable time daily in Practice CS.
• Stay informed on current federal and state tax laws to ensure compliance and provide expert guidance.
• Collaborate with clients to address tax-related inquiries and offer tailored solutions.
• Utilize expertise in UltraTax CS and Practice CS to streamline processes and enhance efficiency.
• Manage multiple client engagements independently while adhering to deadlines.
• Contribute to the firm's development initiatives by sharing knowledge and best practices.
• Ensure all documentation and reports are organized and accessible for reference.
• Support the firm’s mission of delivering high-quality service to a loyal client base.
• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance; CPA or EA designation is preferred but not required.
• At least 10 years of accounting experience, with a focus on tax preparation and review.
• Proficiency in preparing and reviewing individual and business tax returns; experience with trust returns is a plus.
• Advanced knowledge of Thomson Reuters UltraTax CS and Practice CS software.
• Solid understanding of federal and state tax regulations.
• Expertise in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and Outlook.
• Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and time management abilities.
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to manage multiple client engagements effectively.
