Position Overview
We’re seeking an experienced Lighting Designer & Production Manager to lead the
creative vision and technical execution for our stadium and touring productions. This role
combines hands-on design, pre-viz, console programming, and
onsite production leadership. You’ll partner closely with our creative, audio, video, staging,
and content departments to deliver tightly executed live events.
Key Responsibilities
Design & Creative Development
• Design full systems for concerts, game-day entertainment, and special events
• Build plots and paperwork in Vectorworks and SketchUp
• Create pre-visualizations in grandMA 3D or equivalent• Program and operate lighting consoles (grandMA2/3)
• Develop cueing, effects, and timing for high-impact live moments
• Collaborate with video and production design teams to unify the visual environment
Production Management
• Lead local crews through load-in, programming, performance, and load-out
• Manage technical documentation, advancing, and vendor coordination
• Build production schedules, crew calls, and day-of-show timelines
• Oversee budgets, rentals, trucking, and consumables
• Ensure all lighting systems meet safety, power, and rigging standards
On-Site Execution
• Direct crews during stadium builds and show execution
• Troubleshoot equipment, networking, and power systems under pressure
• Serve as a point of contact between artists, production, and venue teams
Collaboration
• Partner closely with audio, video, staging, and content teams
• Interpret creative direction and turn it into repeatable, show-ready design
• Maintain strong communication with internal staff, touring crews, and MLB partners
Qualifications
• 7–10+ years of experience in lighting design for live entertainment
• Strong console skills: grandMA2/3 (required)
• Proficient in Vectorworks, SketchUp, and grandMA 3D
• Experience designing for concerts, festivals, or large-scale sports entertainment• Strong understanding of DMX, networking, power distribution, truss structure, and IP-
rated fixtures
• Proven leadership managing crews, budgets, and multi-day builds
• Ability to travel for events, sometimes on short notice
• Calm under pressure, strong communicator, and excellent at on-site problem solving
