Location : Hicksville, NY (Hybrid or Onsite Preferred)

Position Summary

The Director, Business Applications is responsible for leading Nassau Candy’s enterprise software initiatives, with a primary focus on implementing the company’s new ERP platform. This role will manage the migration of data from legacy systems, oversee application integration, and ensure employees are properly trained to maximize adoption and efficiency.

In addition to technology leadership, this role requires a strong manager who can assess internal teams, evaluate external partners, and make recommendations that drive alignment and efficiency across the organization. Success in this role means building a modern, scalable software environment that improves productivity, ensures data consistency, and supports long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

ERP Implementation & Legacy Migration

  • Lead the planning, execution, and optimization of the NetSuite ERP implementation.
  • Develop and manage the roadmap for migrating data and processes from multiple legacy systems into NetSuite.
  • Ensure historical data is migrated accurately and accessible for business and compliance needs.
  • Establish clear timelines and milestones for decommissioning redundant systems.

Business Applications & Integration

  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement additional applications (CRM, BI tools, portals) that complement the ERP and streamline workflows.
  • Oversee integration between NetSuite and other business applications to ensure end-to-end process efficiency.
  • Support business team leaders on an ongoing basis to implement software modifications and additions as needed.
  • Create governance standards for applications, integrations, and data management.
  • Team & Vendor Leadership

  • Assess the effectiveness of internal IT teams and external partners, providing recommendations that strengthen overall capability and alignment with business goals.
  • Manage vendor relationships, consultants, and implementation partners to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Build a culture of accountability and collaboration within the IT function.
  • Training & Adoption

  • Partner with business units to design training programs and user guides to maximize adoption of NetSuite and other applications.
  • Serve as a trusted resource for department leaders, helping them translate business needs into technology solutions.
  • Develop ongoing support processes and documentation for end users.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership

  • Act as a liaison between IT and business teams to ensure solutions meet both operational and strategic needs.
  • Manage vendor relationships, consultants, and implementation partners to deliver projects on time and on budget.
  • Report on project status, risks, and benefits realization to senior leadership.
  • Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8–12 years of progressive experience in business applications, ERP systems, or IT program management.
  • Proven success implementing major ERP systems across a multi-division organization.
  • Experience with data migration, system integrations, and business process redesign.
  • Strong management and leadership skills, with the ability to evaluate team structures and recommend improvements.
  • Excellent communication and change management skills, with ability to train and support business users.
  • Background in manufacturing, distribution, consumer goods, or supply chain environments strongly preferred.
  • What Success Looks Like in the First 12–18 Months

  • The new ERP is successfully implemented and stabilized across core business units.
  • Multiple legacy systems are decommissioned, with data fully migrated and processes consolidated.
  • Employees across departments are trained and actively using NetSuite to perform daily tasks.
  • One or more critical business applications (CRM, BI, etc.) are successfully integrated into the ERP environment.
  • The business has a clear roadmap for ongoing application enhancements and continuous improvement.
