Psychiatrist (contractor)

SUMMARY

Uses independent judgment and discretion to provide psychiatric services to children and families.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions. Employees must spend over 50% of their time on these duties.

• Provide psychiatric services within the clinical scope of practice to children and families.
• Provide psychiatric evaluations and treatment for Medi-Cal clients.
• Available for crisis calls (reimbursed time).
• Adhere to all agency and Department of Mental Health (DMH) documentation requirements.
• Document all patient encounters and maintain accurate medical records in compliance with DMH and HIPAA standards.
• Collaborate with other clinical treatment team members, medical professionals, and support staff as needed around diagnosis, treatment, and client disposition.
• All clinical progress notes must be completed in the CA state-required time frame of the same day / next day, within 24 hours of service delivery.
• Any requested corrections to progress notes and other documentation must be made within 48 hours of the request.
• Ensure coverage during periods of absence.
• Submit sub-contractor invoice no later than Tuesday of the following week.
