Job Description
American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Department RN for a Level II Trauma Center position requiring current WA or compact RN licensure and strong ED skills.
Responsibilities
Work in the Emergency Department of a hospital with a 60-bed capacityLevel II Trauma Center with high patient acuity and a diverse population ranging from pediatrics to geriatricsHandles trauma, GSW, sepsis, COVID, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, respiratory, and chest pain casesAverage daily census of 140-150 patientsNurse-to-patient ratio is typically 1 : 4, with flexibility to 1 : 5 for low acuityUses Epic for charting, Alaris IV pumps, and Pyxis medication dispensing systemsCentral and bedside telemetry monitoring at the nursing station12-hour day shifts (0700-1900 or 0900-2100), every other weekend requiredNo floating requirementsHoliday coverage required for 3 out of 5 major holidaysWork closely with ER techs, charge nurses, float / resource nurses, RT, ED educator, security, house supervisor, and pharmacy staff for supportProfessional, team-oriented, and traveler-friendly environment with fast-paced workflowInitial orientation includes NEO, Epic training if needed, and preceptor-led shiftsUp to 5 days of approved time off available during contractNo on-call requiredScrubs in any professional color are permittedVisible piercings must be modest and tattoos must not be offensiveFree designated parking providedRequirements
Current WA or compact RN licenseMinimum 1 year of strong recent ED experience requiredCertifications required : BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS, CPI / MOABProficiency in cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, procedural sedation, blood administration, and ED medication administrationEpic EMR experience preferredCompletion and passing of Traveler Telemetry Competency Exam prior to startFirst-time travelers will not be consideredBenefits
