We are seeking a Welder Fabricato r for a Temp-Hire position for our client, a local privately owned fab shop located in Eugene, OR . This is a great opportunity to be a part of a great program and further your career in this industry, located in Eugene, OR .
As a Welder Fabricator you will be responsible for :
Weld & fabricate vacuum chambers & fuel cells for water pumping stations
Study blueprints and Bills of Material (BOM) to determine material requirements and task sequence
Verify conformance of materials to specifications using squares, rulers and measuring tapes
Align and fit parts according to specifications Locate and mark work-piece bending and cutting lines allowing for thickness, machine amp; welding shrinkage and other part specifications
Move work-pieces into position : Manually, with forklifts and overhead cranes
Setup and operate fabricating machines such as brakes, rolls, shears, flame cutters, grinders and drill presses to bend, cut, form, punch, drill or otherwise form and assemble metal parts
Clean and prepare surfaces to be welded ensuring that there is no loose or thick scale, slag, rust, moisture, grease or other foreign matter
Clamp, hold, tack-weld, heat-bend, grind or bolt parts to obtain required configurations to weld parts in flat, vertical or overhead positions using manual or semi-automatic welding equipment
Monitor the fitting, burning and welding processes to avoid overheating of parts or warping, shrinking, distortion or expansion of material
Examine completed work pieces for defects to ensure conformance with specifications
Act as crane operator and understand safety protocols associated with crane operation
Maintain welding and related equipment
Must be willing to learn their product and process
Must be acceptable to training
Must understand importance of good attendance
The ideal candidate for this role will have :
Mig welding - Welds must be airtight
Must have Dual Shield experience
