A company is looking for an Authorization Specialist in Patient Access-Registration.
Key Responsibilities
Collect and verify demographic, insurance, and clinical information from patients to ensure reimbursement requirements are met
Coordinate and communicate with patients and clinical teams to facilitate accurate prior and ongoing authorizations
Maintain records and documentation with accuracy while managing multiple activities in a fast-paced environment
Required Qualifications, Training, and Education
High School diploma, GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience; Associate degree preferred
Minimum of 3 years' experience in a business office or healthcare setting required
Intermediate knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT codes required
Proficient in using computers and electronic medical records; previous medical clinic experience preferred
Understanding of insurance and government authorizations in a healthcare organization is highly recommended
