The Safety Manager is expected to rely on their extensive experience and expertise to fulfill the functions of the role with minimal supervision. This position requires the customary and regular exercise of discretion and independent judgment in the performance of the following essential duties :
EDUCATION and / or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's degree in Occupational Safety, Industrial Technology, Industrial Engineering, or a related field preferred. Requires 2-4 years of experience in a manufacturing safety role or equivalent combination of education and experience.
SKILLS
Language : Ability to read, analyze, and interpret safety regulations, technical documents, and business communications. Ability to write reports and policies. Strong presentation and communication skills with all levels of the organization. Bilingual in English and Spanish strongly preferred to support effective training and communication across sites.
Computer : Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
Reasoning : Ability to apply concepts such as statistical analysis, rates, ratios, and percentages to interpret safety trends and data. Ability to solve complex problems and manage multiple priorities across locations. Able to interpret regulatory requirements and adapt them to operational realities.
Other : Attention to detail and organizational skills are necessary. Ability to conduct instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
OSHA 30-Hour Certification required; CSP or ASP preferred. Valid driver's license and ability to travel between locations (approximately 25-30% travel required).
