School Speech Language Therapist

As the Speech / Language Therapist you will Provide individual or group therapy to students with speech, voice, or language disorders to improve their language skills and academic performance.

As the Speech / Language Therapist your day will include :

• Planning and providing appropriate individual and group therapy to students consistent with speech / language goals contained in students’ Individualized Education Plan (IEP) and Behavior Implementation Plan
• Providing therapy services in the areas of speech, voice, or language disorders in individual and group setting
• Collaborating with other disciplines to ensure team understanding of student performance strengths and needs, through evaluation, educational program planning and service delivery
• Evaluating the student’s ability and formulates the student’s IEP goals through a variety of functional, behavioral, and standardized assessments, skilled observation, histories, and interviews
• Compiling evaluation results into a comprehensive written report which reflects strengths and barriers to student participation in the educational plan
• Participating in multidisciplinary meetings to review evaluation results, integrates findings with other disciplines, offer recommendations, and develop individual education plans and intervention plans to achieve IEP goals.
• Monitoring and reassess the effects of speech therapy interventions and the need to continue, modify, or discontinue intervention
• Responding calmly and objectively in situations involving students with extreme / sustained behaviors
• All other duties as assigned

Qualifications for the role :

Competitive Salary starting at $51,478.00 per school year (actual rate is dependent on internal equity and past experience)

Shift : Monday through Friday 7 : 35 AM – 2 : 35 PM
