About the Role :

eBay's dynamic Technology, Marketing, and Commercial Contracts Legal team is seeking an enthusiastic Commercial Attorney to join our team in either Austin, TX, or Salt Lake City, Utah. This hybrid role requires in-office presence at least three days a week, offering an opportunity to immerse yourself in our business, lead contract negotiations, and provide crucial commercial insights that directly influence our strategic direction. This position involves providing legal counseling and collaborating directly with business units to ensure alignment with business goals and objectives. Responsibilities :

• Lead the review and negotiation of diverse commercial agreements, including construction, commercial real estate, software licenses / SaaS, professional services, and data privacy agreements.
• Assess legal risks and disputes in commercial agreements, offering practical guidance on risk management, policy compliance, and contractual obligations.
• Enhance processes by creating, developing, and managing legal trainings and playbooks.
• Cultivate strong, collaborative relationships with strategic business partners, such as security, privacy, procurement, and finance, to align legal strategies with business goals for cohesive operations.
• Undertake special projects and tasks as needed, addressing unique legal challenges and supporting new business initiatives in a dynamic environment.

The base pay range for this position is expected in the range below :

$132,000 - $212,000

Base pay offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, including location, skills, and experience. The total compensation package for this position may also include other elements, including a target bonus and restricted stock units (as applicable) in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and / or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as PTO and parental leave). Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.

If hired, employees will be in an at-will position and the Company reserves the right to modify base salary (as well as any other discretionary payment or compensation program) at any time, including for reasons related to individual performance, Company or individual department / team performance, and market factors.
