Phlebotomist

Job Description

The main function of a phlebotomist is to assist in performing various assigned duties, troubleshooting, training, and making workflow recommendations. This role involves collecting and storing specimens according to established procedures, explaining processes clearly to patients, and ensuring the accuracy and integrity of specimens.

Responsibilities

  • Perform blood draws, label specimens, and centrifuge specimens.
  • Record maintenance data and decontaminate equipment.
  • Update patient information as necessary.
  • Collect and store specimens following established procedures.

Essential Skills & Qualifications

  • Pediatric phlebotomy
  • Blood draw with at least 2 years of experience
  • Valid Phlebotomy certification for the state of employment, if required.
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 2-4 years of experience
  • Experience with specimen collection

    Job Type & Location

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Annandale, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $24.00 / hr.
