Sawnee Animal Clinic is a growing practice in a growing community! We strive to provide the best possible care to our clients and our patients, and have been doing so since the hospital opened in 1996. We are a mixed animal practice providing care to not only cats and dogs, but farm animals, small mammals, reptiles, and birds. Our services include wellness and illness exams, general surgery, dental care, and diagnostics. We also have state of the art equipment such as digital radiology, dental radiology, and cold laser therapy. Our hospital is conveniently located close to Atlanta as well as the North GA mountains. We are seeking a Veterinary Assistant to join our growing hospital to provide exceptional care to our patients! You will work alongside other skilled Vet Assistants, support our DVMs in the daily flow of the hospital. Position Skills :

• Assist DVMs and credentialed veterinary technicians with appointments, prepping patients for surgery and minor procedures, surgical assisting, and pro-actively set up for any procedures or diagnostic tests
• Restrain animals in a safe, efficient, and caring manner
• Obtain accurate vitals, obtain medical histories, and / or note any changes of patient's condition to DVM
• Collect and prepare laboratory samples such as fecal, urine, and ear cytologies
• Care and maintenance of all medical equipment including laboratory machines, surgical packs, anesthesia machines, and any other tools that are essential to daily operations
• High quality client communication on patient updates and questions
• Cross training to other departments within the hospital
