Grounds Maintenance Technician

As a Grounds Maintenance Technician, you will maintain the general appearance of PCHC's grounds and parking lots, ensuring a safe environment for guests and Team Members. Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure that facility is compliant with applicable local, state and federal regulations, or Tribal MICS related to the Facility.
- Maintain health, vitality and appearance of all shrubs, trees, lawn, and ornamental plants.
- Safe handling, mixing and application of herbicides and insecticides and accurate log keeping of applications in stock.
- Provide general improvements of facility grounds to ensure guest satisfaction and safety.
- Maintain cleanliness of all exterior areas including, parking lot, sidewalks, emergency exits which includes keeping entrances clean and free of snow and ice.
- Maintain and service equipment on a preventative maintenance schedule to minimize breakdown.
- Service and repair all grounds equipment (plow, tractors, UTV's, lawn mowing & snow removal equipment, portable generator, etc.), outsourcing only when applicable.
- Reduces the need for contract maintenance services of grounds equipment by troubleshooting and repairing (within capabilities) a variety of equipment, automotive and truck problems including electrical systems, brakes, carburetors, engine compression, clutch and transmission, injectors, differentials, pumps, hydraulic and power take-off operations.
- Ensures that grounds equipment requiring major maintenance services or repairs receive those services by determining the extent of services or repairs required and arranging with other vendors for services or repairs beyond the capability to perform or that are too costly (i.e., time and money) for the grounds team to perform.
- Safely and efficiently operate all heavy equipment necessary to complete the grounds duties. This includes the pallet fork lift to load and unload trucks as needed.
- Troubleshoot and repair equipment breakdowns (including hydraulic, electrical, mechanical, cooling systems, etc.).
- Safely and efficiently use all hand and power tools (chop saw, Sawzall, hand drill, grinders, impact wrench, drill press, etc.) in accordance with all safety rules and regulations.
- Perform basic welding with the Mig and stick welder, and also cut with the cutting torch.
- Monitor and maintain the RV dump station, assisting guests as needed.
- Be responsible for hauling trash carts and loading contents into central compactor, and checking to ensure recyclables are properly separated.
- Perform all snow removal and lawn / landscape maintenance operations utilizing PCCH plows, tractors, mowers, etc.
- Maintains appropriate maintenance records by keeping records of all grounds equipment operating hours, preventive maintenance services performed, and repairs completed.
- Assist Maintenance and other departments when needed with heavy lifting / moving and large jobs.
- Available during winter months to work long hours for snow removal to maintain a safe environment for guests and Team Members of the Casino and Hotel.
- All other duties as assigned by the Facilities Director or Maintenance Manager.
Job Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent is preferred.Technical training, or two (2) years hands-on-experience in commercial grounds maintenance.Valid Wisconsin driver's license is required.Experience in operating seasonal equipment such as riding lawn mowing equipment, large tractors, UTV's and snow removal equipment is required.Experience in troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of seasonal equipment such as riding lawn mowers, large tractors, UTV's and snow removal equipment is required.Experience in landscaping / gardening with appropriate certification preferred.Ability to uphold complete confidentiality is required.Must display constant professionalism when representing PCCH.Must work well with people, possess excellent guest service skills, and sensitivity to diverse cultures.Must possess strong oral and written communication skills.Ability to maintain a professional demeanor in stressful situations is necessary.Disclaimer
