Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist
Dawson is currently seeking applicants to fill our Medical Assistant / Phlebotomist positions located throughout the State of Florida in support of the Medical Readiness Services for the Florida Army National Guard. Work is primarily on weekends, with some occasional weekdays. All work is on a part-time "as needed" basis. We provide health readiness services to meet the medical and dental requirements to maintain a deployable military force for the Florida Army National Guard (FLARNG).
Duties And Responsibilities :
- Complete event set up, take down and maintenance of workstation equipment
- Provide Phlebotomy Services / Blood Draws to include specimen labeling and packaging
- Perform Electrocardiograms (EKGs)
- Complete vitals manually to include blood pressure, height & weight
- Complete vision screenings using the Snellen Eye Chart
- Maintain accurate data on vials, sign-in sheets, requisitions, etc.
- Scan through documentation to identify Soldier's required screening(s) / test(s)
- Safeguard all patient information
- Ensures all actions are in compliance with HIPAA and other appropriate federal and state laws and regulations

CPR / BLS CertificationHigh school diploma or equivalentPhlebotomy Certification (if doing blood draws)A valid US driver's licenseExcellent customer service skills and experience interacting with difficult clienteleUtilization of universal precautions for patient care1+ years' experience in a medical / dental settingAbility to work in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changes quicklyAbility to concentrate for lengthy periods and perform accurately with adequate speedMust submit no less than two professional references with resumePreferred Qualifications :Certified or Registered Medical Assistant or equivalent trainingExperience working in a Military settingPreferred skill to have is working knowledge of the regulations and policies that apply to Individual Medical Readiness (IMR) and deployment.Physical Demands And Work Environment :
