What you can expect as an Aircraft Paint Technician Team Lead at West Star :

This position requires an advanced knowledge of the aircraft paint process. The job involves supervising teams, training, and customer support, as well as the ability to evaluate and adjust manpower and schedules when necessary. Training and maintaining workflow will be essential.

Responsibilities

  • Day to day management of production crew to ensure scheduling demands are met.
  • Team Management : Supervise, mentor, and guide a team of paint technicians, foster a positive work environment, encourage teamwork, and enhance technician skills through on-the-job training and performance coaching.
  • Coordinate schedules with other departments.
  • Training individual team members to ensure quality and safety standards are met.
  • Prepare and deliver performance evaluations of assigned team members.
  • Scheduling with parts department to ensure necessary materials required to complete the job are available.
  • Assist in final inspection of aircraft.
  • Maintain paint shop premises and work facilities in a clean and orderly manner.
  • Many duties of the Team Leader Paint may be delegated by him to qualified subordinates as deemed necessary; however, such delegation does not relieve the supervisor of the overall responsibility.
  • Attend work every day as scheduled to include overtime and weekend assignments. Notify supervisor in advance of shift starting if unable to work.
  • Effectively and clearly communicate (i.e., speak, write, read) in English
  • Any other job-related duties as assigned by supervisor or management.

Qualifications

This role requires advanced knowledge of the aircraft paint process, strong supervisory and training abilities, and the capacity to evaluate and adjust manpower and schedules. Ability to train team members to meet quality and safety standards and to collaborate with other departments is essential.
