Overview
Naval Architect-Mid with Security Clearance. SEA 21, NAVSEA's Director of Surface Ship Maintenance, Modernization, and Sustainment, seeks professional support services (PSS) to support the Government's existing organization, personnel, knowledge, and processes.
Responsibilities
- Support life cycle management of U.S. and partner Navy surface ships and systems from fleet introduction through transfer or disposal.
- Contribute to modernization, maintenance, training, and inactivation programs; interface with technical and programmatic efforts.
- Design, build, and maintain ships; vessels range from small combatant craft to large aircraft carriers; submarines may be included.
- Proficiency in hydrostatics, hydrodynamics, flotation and stability, structures, arrangements, and construction; conduct cost and survivability assessments; use modern computation tools for design studies.
- Integrate activities of technology specialists and synthesize conflicting design constraints to balance ship / submarine designs.
Qualifications
Required : Bachelor’s degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, or related field; minimum of 5 years of related experience; Professional Engineer license; U.S. citizen; secret security clearance.Preferred : Master’s degree in marine engineering, naval architecture, or related field; 7+ years of related experience.Employment details
