Member of Technical Staff, Engineering Operations

Lumotive is pioneering the era of programmable opticswhere light is controlled as intelligently and flexibly as software.

At the heart of this transformation is a once-in-a-generation innovation : a flat CMOS-based general purpose optic. Lumotives Light Control Metasurface (LCM) beam forming chips can be programmed to function as a beam steering mirror, a lens, mirror, a beam splitteror any optical functionreplacing bulky and mechanical optical components with a fully digital, reconfigurable semiconductor . This breakthrough lays the foundation for a massive shift in multiple technologiesfrom 3D sensing and imaging to optical networking, free space optical communication, and beyond. Like the shift from analog to digital in electronics, programmable optics will reshape industries from robotics, self-driving cars, AI, defense, and healthcare.

Lumotives first commercial application is in LiDAR, where its software-defined beam steering chips are already enabling compact, high-performance, solid-state sensors. These sensors are being deployed today in smart infrastructure, robotics, and mobility systems through leading module makers and solution integrators.

With more than 200 patents and growing commercial traction, Lumotive is delivering the worlds first digital platform for lightand redefining whats possible in the optical age.

Job Description :

Were seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented professional to lead our engineering prototyping operations. This multifaceted role involves ownership of material procurement, inventory management, supplier coordination and in-house build processes for our cutting edge lidar systems enabled by Lumotives Light Control Metasurface technology. You will be at the heart of hardware engineering operations to drive product quality and shape how our hardware performs in the real world. This is a hands-on, cross-functional role ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, hardware-centric environment.

Responsibilities :

  • Primary owner for engineering material procurement, inventory management, and prototype build coordination driving end-to-end execution of engineering prototype builds.
  • Source and procure materials for prototyping, including optical, electrical mechanical components and custom parts (e.g. PCBs, mechanical hardware).
  • Manage material readiness and cost across all prototype builds.
  • Track and maintain inventory of prototypes and critical materials; develop and sustain inventory management processes and tools.
  • Manage shipping.
  • Develop build plans, schedules and tracking for all prototype programs.
  • Develop and implement in-house manufacturing processes and procedures.
  • Coordinate with domestic and international suppliers for prototyping processes such as SMT assembly, die-bonding, wire bonding, system assembly.
  • Drive improvements in speed, quality, and cost of prototyping operations.
  • Establish and enforce quality control standards and procedures.
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective action documentation.
