Job description

Space Systems Architect | Colorado

In this role, you will spearhead the development of technical solutions, from subsystems to vehicle-level, supporting in various space missions. You will guide cross-functional teams in architectural design, oversee development, and ensure the successful deployment of space system solutions tailored to both current and future customer needs.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Lead the architecture and delivery of mission solutions across commercial and defense portfolios, ensuring alignment with customer requirements.
  • Monitor industry trends, technological advancements, and the competitive landscape to develop competitive assessments and pursuit strategies. Collaborate on capture strategies, including technical, programmatic, schedule, and financial elements, and support pursuit reviews through all phases.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with customers, often leading experts in their respective fields, and advocate for their critical needs within our organization.
  • Lead interdisciplinary teams in complex technical projects, from concept development through to integration and testing, ensuring the delivery of customer-specific solutions.
  • Define system performance requirements, integrate technical parameters, and ensure compatibility across all interfaces.
  • Drive internal technical projects and end-to-end engineering activities to support the company’s strategic growth objectives.
  • Provide guidance on make / buy decisions and the selection of strategic suppliers.

Requirements :

  • U.S. citizenship with the ability to obtain a TS / SCI security clearance.
  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, physics, or a related field (or equivalent experience in place of an advanced degree).
  • 8+ years of relevant experience in the technical leadership of space mission programs.
  • Expertise in developing system / mission requirements and executing requirement flow-down processes.
  • Experience in creating and managing system / mission budgets (e.g., mass, power, RF, propulsion).
  • Comprehensive understanding of the systems engineering lifecycle and satellite / ground / mission development processes.
  • Strong technical acumen, industry knowledge, and communication skills, with experience presenting to both internal and external audiences.
