Onsite : This role is categorized as onsite. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to Orion, MI on a full-time basis.

The Role

Responsible for the execution / develop of manufacturing controls. Work will be performed in a centralized manufacturing engineering activity or assembly / plant activity where a considerable amount of creativity and initiative is exercised as well as a high level of independent judgment.

What Youll Do (Responsibilities include)

  • New program implementation / execution (SOR prep, forecasting, controls / robotics design, equipment build / run-off and buyoff)
  • Design, construction, integration, plant installation, successful launch and continuous improvement
  • Staying abreast of new controls technologies (PLC, HMI, networks, robot, vision) of equipment and tools required in plants for the production of high-quality parts
  • Managing deliveries to program timing milestones
  • Providing project report outs to senior management
  • Existing program / site support (troubleshooting, etc.)
  • Providing technical direction to less experienced controls engineers.
  • Designing and troubleshooting of electrical controls systems
  • Work may involve development and testing of advanced process technology

Qualifications (Minimum Requirements)

  • Bachelors degree in engineering or equivalent work experience or training
  • Controls experience in manufacturing environment
  • PLC experience with ladder logic, and schematics
  • What Gives You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Skills)

  • 5+ years experience in manufacturing environment
  • 5+ years of PLC work experience (Controls Engineer)
  • Experience with Siemens, Allen-Bradley
  • Mechatronics degree or training a benefit
