The Surveillance Manufacturing Engineering organization plays a critical role in driving business success by delivering essential engineering services across Raytheon’s product lines. Our team consists of innovative problem-solvers, collaborating day-to-day to achieve excellence.

As part of the Material Processing Manufacturing Engineering Department, you’ll focus on developing and supporting assembly methods, materials, and processes for cutting-edge microwave and mmWave products. Your work will be instrumental in leveraging automation and advanced materials to ensure success in both current and future production efforts. You will collaborate closely with a variety of disciplines, including product, quality, reliability, tooling, and industrial engineers, as well as operations leaders.

What You Will Do

Provide on-site support for low-volume, high-mix production, swiftly addressing factory equipment, process, materials, and product issues. This includes implementing controlled processes utilizing data-driven methodologies like Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Design of Experiments (DOE), along with maintaining comprehensive shop process documentation.

Oversee and execute new product builds, employing automated equipment and creative solutions for innovative product designs.

Ensure that all developed processes meet stringent product quality standards, including J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, and MIL-PRF-38534.

Lead process improvement initiatives aimed at enhancing factory productivity by exploring new technologies and materials.

Contribute to the selection and integration of capital equipment to satisfy current and future business requirements.

Facilitate effective cross-functional communication regarding technical information.

Qualifications You Must Have

A Bachelor's degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Math (STEM) and a minimum of 2 years of relevant experience.

At least 1 year of manufacturing experience.

U.S. citizenship is required.

Qualifications We Prefer

Experience in manufacturing processes involving surface mount technology (SMT) and microelectronics, as well as automated assembly equipment.

Background in process development and qualification.

Familiarity with J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, and IPC standards.

Experience in Statistical Process Control (SPC) and statistical data analysis, including Design of Experiments (DOE) techniques.

Technical writing experience for operator instructions and qualification reports.

A proactive, data-driven approach to problem solving.

Proven ability to implement significant improvements.

Mechanical aptitude and knowledge of material properties and automated equipment.

A collaborative mindset with the capability to work within a multidisciplinary engineering team.

Self-motivated and adept at multi-tasking in a fast-paced environment.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

The salary range for this role is $66,000 to $130,000. This is a good faith estimate that varies with experience and role expectations. RTX considers several factors in the offer process, including role responsibilities, candidate experience, education, and skills. Benefits may include medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and more, varying by business unit and whether a collective-bargaining agreement applies. Annual incentive compensation may also be available based on performance. This role is strictly U.S.-based.
