The Senior Financial Accountant-GL is responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external purposes. S / he is also responsible for year-end external audit support, account analysis, and internal support. The Senior Accountant-GL manages and prioritizes these responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintains and balances general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling in addition to resolving discrepancies
- Advises all departments regarding accounting procedural changes to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Prepares and maintains standard adjusting and eliminating journal entries with related support and inputs entries into Vista
- Communicates effectively with impacted departments to advise of necessary account corrections
- Works with Controller in the fulfillment of preliminary year-end information requests from external auditors
- Prepares and provides schedules and other required documents for information as necessary
- Provides support to Payroll and Tax Departments
- Ensures a Safe Work Environment
- Participates in Training / Certifications
Requirements
Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a four-year college or university; and 7 years of related experienceWorking knowledge of GAAPProficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word and ExcelSharePoint and Hyperion experience preferredThe following competencies are needed to successfully perform this job :
