Job descriptionBachelor's degree in accounting or finance from a four-year college or university; and 7 years of related experience Working knowledge of GAAP Proficiency in Microsoft software programs such as Word and Excel SharePoint and Hyperion experience preferred Ability to effectively communicate orally or in writing within and outside the organization Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedures Ability to effectively present financial information and respond to questions from all levels of the organization Ability to calculate mathematical figures such as addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations Ability to apply mathematical knowledge to create complex formulas Ability to present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and co-workers Ability to resolve issues in a timely, accurate, and professional manner in a team-oriented environment Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables, collect information, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions Ability to interpret information provided in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form Ability to exhibit sound and accurate judgment Ability to effectively use time-m

The Senior Financial Accountant-GL is responsible for the preparation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements and supporting schedules for internal and external purposes. S / he is also responsible for year-end external audit support, account analysis, and internal support. The Senior Accountant-GL manages and prioritizes these responsibilities to ensure deadlines are met.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintains and balances general ledger accounts by verifying, allocating, and reconciling in addition to resolving discrepancies
- Advises all departments regarding accounting procedural changes to ensure accuracy and consistency
- Prepares and maintains standard adjusting and eliminating journal entries with related support and inputs entries into Vista
- Communicates effectively with impacted departments to advise of necessary account corrections
- Works with Controller in the fulfillment of preliminary year-end information requests from external auditors
- Prepares and provides schedules and other required documents for information as necessary
- Provides support to Payroll and Tax Departments
- Ensures a Safe Work Environment
- Participates in Training / Certifications
