Job description

Product Manager II, Google Beam, Hardware

At Google, we put our users first. The world is always changing, so we need Product Managers who are continuously adapting and excited to work on products that affect millions of people every day. In this role, you will work cross-functionally to guide products from conception to launch by connecting the technical and business worlds. You can break down complex problems into steps that drive product development. One of the many reasons Google consistently brings innovative, world-changing products to market is because of the collaborative work we do in Product Management. Our team works closely with creative engineers, designers, marketers, etc. to help design and develop technologies that improve access to the world's information. We're responsible for guiding products throughout the execution cycle, focusing specifically on analyzing, positioning, packaging, promoting, and tailoring our solutions to our users.

As a Product Manager on Google Beam, you will define, build, and deliver device concepts and technology roadmaps. You will work with engineering, design, and research teams to help us shape the future of video communication. You will collaborate with manufacturing partners and the hardware ecosystem to realize our product outlook.

In this role, you will be responsible for launching and landing the first commercial product in the Google Beam portfolio. You will be responsible for exploring, and defining future product concepts and supporting technologies that deliver compelling video calling experiences for businesses and consumers.

Google Beam is a true-to-life new communication technology from Google that allows people to feel like they're having real face-to-face conversations, no matter the distance. Powered by realistic state-of-the-art 3D imaging and spatial audio and integrated with today's leading remote video platforms, Google Beam enables you to be immersed in the moment, together. As a part of the Google Beam team, you'll work with incredible teammates across all major functions in a fast-paced product-oriented environment. Your contributions will have an impact on the future of communications with Google products. You will apply technology to solve that really important problem that we often want to be together and we can't.

The US base salary range for this full-time position is $156,000-$229,000 + bonus + equity + benefits. Our salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. Your recruiter can share more about the specific salary range for your preferred location during the hiring process. Please note that the compensation details listed in US role postings reflect the base salary only, and do not include bonus, equity, or benefits. Learn more about benefits at Google.

Responsibilities :

  • Define the product strategy and concept of Google Beam hardware based on market analysis, and partner and customer feedback.
  • Influence a roadmap of new feature requests sourced from cross-functional teams to improve the product's value proposition, ease of deployment and ease of use.
  • Lead cross-functional teams to identify and deconstruct product problems, evaluate solutions against UX, technical and business criteria, and align the team forward.
  • Support Go-to-Market (GTM) planning and execution, provide product expertise to inform product marketing and technical training collateral to onboard direct business teams and resellers.
