We are looking for an experienced Senior Project Manager - Capital Projects to oversee significant capital investment projects in our North American manufacturing network. This role requires a strategic leader with technical expertise to manage large infrastructure and production projects valued at over $30 million USD from inception to completion. You will lead project teams to ensure timely and within budget delivery of complex engineering solutions in alignment with safety and strategic goals.
Key Responsibilities
Major Capital Oversight: Manage end-to-end lifecycle of substantial projects, including feasibility assessments, vendor selection, detailed engineering, and construction supervision.
Technical & Safety Governance: Act as an expert in OSHA Process Safety Management (PSM). Lead safety reviews like HAZOPs, LOPAs, and PSSRs to maintain operational safety.
Strategic Resource Management: Align project scope with business requirements, oversee daily operations, budgets, and technology-operation connections.
Contractor & Discipline Coordination: Supervise diverse teams (Civil, Structural, Mechanical, Electrical, and Automation) and manage specialized contractors for chemical unit operations.
Executive Reporting: Provide project updates, cost analysis, and risk mitigation strategies to the Steering Committee and senior management.
Qualifications & Experience
Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering required (Preferably in Chemical Engineering).
Experience: 15-20 years of Capital Project Management experience in chemical manufacturing environments.
Safety Mastery: In-depth knowledge of PSM systems, Management of Change (MOC), and SIS implementation.
Project Controls: Demonstrated ability to manage budgets and schedules using tools like MS Project, Primavera, or similar methodologies.
Chemical Proficiency: Familiarity with chemical unit operations such as reaction chemistry, distillation, mixing, and related equipment.
