Per Diem School-Based Registered Nurse (RN) - Hemet, California

This opportunity is for a Registered Nurse (RN) or Certified School Nurse (CSN) to provide per diem, as-needed substitute nursing support within a K-12 school setting located in Hemet, CA. The role is ideal for candidates with previous experience specifically in school nursing, as the position requires proficiency with the unique responsibilities and demands of the school environment.

Key Responsibilities Include

Conducting hearing and vision screenings, particularly for students with Individualized Education Programs (IEP) and special needs.

Collaborating with Licensed Vocational Nurses (LVNs) on call, offering guidance on handling various health situations and medication administration.

Managing and updating care plans and health plans for students.

Responding promptly to emergency situations within assigned schools, typically covering up to three schools, with scheduling aligned to the full-time nurses rotations.

Qualifications

Prior experience working as a School Nurse is mandatory, with a strong understanding of school health protocols.

Certification as a School Nurse (CSN) or valid Registered Nurse (RN) licensure.

Ability to work as an on-call substitute throughout the school year (CSY).

Familiarity with IEP procedures and special needs health requirements.

Strong communication and organizational skills to effectively manage student care plans and emergency response.

Location : Hemet, CA K-12 school district.

This per diem role is strictly for nurses accustomed to school nursing environments, with no training period available. Candidates should be prepared to work flexible schedules as needed.
