The Senior Sous Chef supports the Executive Chef in leading daily kitchen operations to deliver high-quality, nutritious, and beautifully presented meals for residents and guests. This role helps supervise, train, and inspire the culinary team, ensuring excellence in food quality, safety, and service.
Shift : Fri-Tues 11am to 7pm
Salary Range : $78,000-90,000 depending on experience
A day in the life might include :
- Preparing and cooking a variety of foods using diverse techniques such as baking, broiling, frying, steaming, and braising
- Ensuring meals meet standards for taste, presentation, portion, and dietary needs
- Overseeing daily kitchen operations, scheduling, and team assignments
- Leading, mentoring, and developing kitchen team members to achieve culinary and service excellence
- Maintaining cleanliness, sanitation, and compliance with HACCP and health regulations
- Managing inventory, ordering supplies, and ensuring proper food storage and labeling
- Supporting catering events and special functions
- Delivering an exceptional dining experience through professional and friendly resident and guest interactions
To be successful in the role, you would have :
Advanced culinary skills and experience in food preparation, sanitation, and safetyStrong leadership and team-building abilities3–5 years of supervisory experience in a hotel, senior living community, or restaurant settingAssociate’s degree in Culinary Arts or equivalent training and experienceServSafe or Food Handlers Certification (or willingness to obtain)Excellent communication, organization, and problem-solving skillsWhat's in it for you?
