Job Description

American Traveler seeks a Physical Therapist for an acute care hospital opportunity, requiring Illinois PT license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

  • Position is based in an acute care hospital setting
  • Primary schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 : 00 AM to 5 : 00 PM
  • Works with patients of all ages across various conditions and acuity levels
  • Utilizes EPIC EMR system; EPIC experience required
  • Patient care includes evaluation, plan of care development, and therapeutic interventions
  • Supervision of PTAs and rehabilitation technicians as dictated by regulations
  • Responsibilities include evaluating, treating, and documenting care for all age groups
  • Designs interventions addressing patients' functional and emotional needs
  • Collaborates with patients, families, and interdisciplinary team throughout the rehabilitation process
  • Adapts care plans in response to patient progress and feedback
  • Provides education to patients, families, caregivers, students, and healthcare staff
  • Supervises support personnel while adhering to legal and ethical standards
  • No local candidates accepted per 50-mile radius rule
  • Requests for time off may not exceed 7 days in a 13-week contract
  • Position does not accept travel partners
  • Candidates must provide a 30-day notice to cancel after the assignment has started
  • Returning travelers are subject to a one-year-on, six-month-off policy before returning

    • Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Physical Therapy required
  • Current Illinois Physical Therapist (PT) license required if applicable
  • BLS certification from American Heart Association required
  • Minimum of 1 year recent acute care PT experience required; new graduates will be considered
  • Level 1 trauma center experience required
  • Documented EPIC charting experience required
