Registered Dietitian Supervisor – WIC Program

A WIC registered dietitian provides individualized nutrition counseling, develops nutrition education materials, and helps assess high-risk participants for WIC benefits and special food packages. They conduct anthropometric measurements, perform nutritional assessments, and maintain client records, working as part of a WIC team to support the health of women, infants, and children.

JOB SUMMARY

Under basic supervision, provides counseling, education, and assessment for infants, children, and pregnant,

postpartum, and breastfeeding women clients for the Public Health District (PHD); supervises and trains clinic

staff.

QUALIFICATIONS

Education & Experience

Knowledge of : Case management methods, practices and procedures for the assigned client population.

Knowledge of : Supervisory principles and practices.

Skills in : Presenting nutritional information to PHD program participants and the public.

Skills in : Counseling clients with a variety of health issues.

Skills in : Lesson Planning for Nutrition Education Group Classes, Social Media Content review and Livestream

lessons and food demonstrations.

Skills in : SNAP Education collaborating with Health Education and Equity Projects and monthly State Reporting.

Skills in : Utilizing standard personal computer software programs and specialized state and City software.
