Grant Writer

The Grant Writer will play a critical role in securing financial resources to support BHG's substance use disorder treatment and recovery services. The ideal candidate is a skilled and persuasive writer with strong research and project management abilities, who is passionate about helping individuals and families affected by substance use disorders. This position collaborates with BHG's Director of Grant Management, leadership, program staff, and finance teams to develop winning proposals and manage all aspects of the grant lifecycle, from prospect research to final reporting.

The key responsibilities of the Grant Writer include but not limited to :

• Proactively research and identify new public and private grant opportunities aligned with BHG's mission and strategic goals.
• Stay informed about trends in addiction treatment, recovery, and funding landscapes, including updates from agencies like the Substance Abuse and Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA).
• Partner with the Director of Grants Management to assess alignment between the organization's programs and funder priorities to determine the most promising opportunities.
• Write clear, persuasive, and grammatically correct grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and supporting documents.
• Work with program directors and other subject matter experts to gather program data, statistics, and stories of client impact.
• Collaborate with the finance department to develop accurate and detailed budgets.
• Ensure all applications and submissions adhere to funder guidelines and meet all deadlines.
• Manage a calendar of grant deadlines for applications and reporting.
• Partner with the Director of Grant Management to develop and maintain a tracking system for all grant-related activities, including submissions, awards, and reporting schedules.
• Partner with operations to prepare timely and accurate interim and final grant reports, demonstrating the program's outcomes and compliance with funder requirements.
• Maintain positive relationships with funding agencies and foundations.
• Work with the operations team and other departments to gather necessary information for proposals and reporting.
• Provide support and guidance to other staff members regarding grant requirements and reporting.
• Performs all related duties as required.
