This is where you come in — we’re looking for an Industrial Engineer to join our Innovation team.

Summary :

The Industrial Engineer will design, develop, and implement improvements in RV production using Design for Manufacturing and Assembly, Lean Manufacturing, and Six Sigma principles. This role blends simulation, prototyping and deployment of manufacturing development projects identified by the team. As part of the cross-function group the Industrial Engineer will collaborate across a wide range of products and production types to drive efficiency, quality and innovation.

Duties & Responsibilities :

  • Performance of data collection of current state production to deepen understanding of current production and development of baselines for future improvements.
  • Ideation of process development improvements to be made that have been identified by the team.
  • Design and simulation of cellular and system layouts, process flows, time studies, and line balancing activities of current and future state of operations.
  • Ability to work independently and lead execution of projects within facilities.
  • Completion of work instructions for each solution created.
  • Supporting the protype build from conception through implementation.
  • Ability to read, create, and follow basic mechanical engineering drawings to support prototyping efforts.
  • Ability to create 2D operational layouts for cellular and system improvements.
  • Identify equipment and other asset requirements necessary to facilitate process improvements and work directly with suppliers on equipment specifications and quoting.
  • Works closely with internal cross-functional teams, contractors, suppliers, and outside vendors to achieve desired results.
  • Work as part of a functional team under the direction of the assigned manager in the timely execution of projects. Includes providing status updates for assigned tasks and activities.
  • Develop and refine skills related to operational improvements to support both project execution and training of operational staff.
  • Travel will be necessary.

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities :

  • 4-year degree in Industrial Engineering or related degree.
  • 5 to 7 years of related work experience required.
  • Proficiency with factory floor simulation tool(s) such as FlexSim or Visual Components.
  • Must be highly proficient with MS Office, MS Visio, SolidWorks / Dassault Systems, and 2D AutoCAD.
  • Must have experience in utilizing lean manufacturing, six sigma, and DFMA methodologies.
  • Must have strong documentation and communication skills.
  • Experience in leading teams during implementation of operation improvements.
  • Ability to use basic hand tools is a must.
